VLYHADA BEACH

The most impressive beach on the island. Imposing white rocks, masterpieces of nature carved into extraordinary shapes by the winds, as if Gaudi had droped in for a swim here before designing the Pedrera.
Althought it has the usual lounge chairs, canteen and taverna, the restless waves and rugged rocks give the place a wild, remote feel and there are fewer people here than at other beaches. Ideal for lovers. The old tomato - processing plant, now used for wedding receptions, completes the "lunar" atmosphere. You can drive here along a proper asphalt road.
It could be the sunlight reflected off these white rocks which makes people tan here faster than on any other beach on the island . There is mini market on the road just before you arrive at the beach.

Amoudi Beach

Aspri Beach

AMOUDI BEACH

Two picturesque coves where traditional fishermen's bouts remind you of simpler times. This is a place to come to eat at one of fish tavernas. For swim try and make it early in the morning or late afternoon because the beaches are small and become crowded during the middle of the day

If you want to swim at Amoudi, the best place is the rocks behind the lighthouse. You can also go across to the little church of Ai-Giorgi Petamatou.

ASPRI

You'll get here by boat from Akrotiri or Kokkini - unless you are into rock climbing! Fine, black sand, pumice stone and gray - white pebbles in the shadow of the tall, white rocks.
The most impressive of these is to be seen from the boat, in the narow strait you'll pass trough as you arrive at the beach - have your camera ready. It's small beach, but with crystal clear water. A few lounging chairs and parasols, no crowds.

Vourvoulos Beach

Vourvoulos beach is for those who value peace and quiot more than natural beaty. More of a cove than a beach, with a just few lounging chairs and bushes. Here and there moorings for the fishermen's boats have been cut into dark rocks. At the end of black peeble beach lies a picturesque litlle harbor with fishing boats and ducks.
